Come explore and experiment with little ‘ol me!
My favorite expression is, “yes - we can do this!”

Become the confident artist you are meant to be as we...

design • with purpose.

Explore design basics.

Intentionally make decisions. Keep your viewer engaged with your art.

Nobody sits down at their art table to make a crummy design. And nobody likes rules, especially when it comes to art.

Yet we all welcome a bit of help along the way. A starting point. So instead of rules, we explore recipes, hints, and tools to help YOU decide where to put that line, or object, leaf or house. (Oops - giving away some of our inspiration!)

As in sketch and color, we engage in light-hearted and whimsical demos that show basic design techniques.

The 'design' module contains an intro and 6 interactive video projects. And a bonus. Maybe two.

You also have access to the online color, design, sketch Facebook page so you can ask questions, post your projects, and meet others in the workshops. Community! Yay!

Be sure to check out the entire color • design • sketch series that features over 10 hours of instruction and 18 interactive projects filled with quick hints and tips to encourage you on your art journey.

When my son was born over 30 years ago, I turned my brief free moments toward art. Now, as a full-time artist, I create to inspire and encourage not only myself, but you, too!

Second only to my passion for Jesus and creating, I find I have a passion for teaching others. My mom always wanted me to be a teacher—she was one pretty smart lady. Whether you are a beginner or have been doing art for years, you will enjoy my “hey – we can do this!” attitude. Because that’s what I say to myself every day!

I seem to grow more and more curious all the time. So I am constantly learning and often share this with you too. Letting you know what works and what maybe doesn’t.

Join me at my blog, on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. Some of my abstracts are for sale on my website, as well as my new line of Athleisure - dynamically designed active wear for on the court and off. Some digital downloads are available and Etsy. You might enjoy my book(let): Bible Journaling: Honoring the Spirit. More on my book page.

Let me know how I can help you!

Jesus and art are my passions. “As for me, I will praise the Lord.” (Psalm 104:35)

Sue lives with her wonderful and handsome hubby, Randy, of over 40 years. They just finished building their dream home on the shores of Lake Superior in Wisconsin and winter in Estero, Florida. They are blessed with two spectacular children and one extraordinary grandchild.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.
Do I have to be a fabulous artist to enjoy the course?
No! As with anything else in life, this course might be a little easier if you have some experience, but it is developed so anyone with a little—or a lot—of experience, can enjoy it! If you are an advanced artist, you may already know the concepts contained in the course.
Will you teach me how to paint?
No. This course is about design. Though I demo using acrylics, you could play with watercolors or even pencils for that matter. And the techniques for each of those mediums would be different.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
